With a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to all citizens, the Government of Guyana continues to invest significantly in the development of modern regional hospitals. These new $6.6B facilities are designed to offer tertiary-level care, equipped with state-of- the-art amenities to ensure exceptional service for patients. Each 65,000-square-foot regional hospital will feature a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Department, a fully equipped high-efficiency laboratory, and advanced imaging services. In addition, the hospitals will provide both outpatient and inpatient care, offering comfortable accommodations, modern operating theatres, and specialized neonatal units. These facilities will be staffed by highly trained medical professionals to ensure the highest standard of care. The Government is also focused on expanding the healthcare workforce through comprehensive training and employment initiatives, aiming to deliver world-class medical services across the country. With construction progressing smoothly, all six regional hospitals are expected to be fully operational by September 2025.
