The Government of Guyana has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative with the commencement of construction for a state-of-the-art $6.6 billion Regional Hospital in Bath Village. This ambitious project aims to revolutionise healthcare access for over 30,000 residents in Region Five (Mahaica- Berbice), promising enhanced medical services and facilities.
The level four Regional Hospital is set to redefine healthcare standards with its impressive features, including 75 in-patient beds, three operating theatres, a neonatal unit, a modern laboratory, and a 24-hour accident and emergency unit. Additionally, the hospital will offer CT scan services, a first of its kind being introduced to the region.
The construction of the Bath Regional Hospital, facilitated by China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation, Sinopharm, marks a significant collaboration aimed at advancing healthcare standards in Guyana.
