The modern hospital at De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, represents a significant advancement in Guyana’s healthcare infrastructure. Situated strategically among the areas of Tuschen, Parika, and surrounding communities, this state-of-the-art facility is poised to address the diverse healthcare needs of the surrounding communities.
Constructed at a cost of approximately $6.6 billion, the project is being executed by China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation, a Chinese State-owned enterprise referred to as Sinopharm, showcasing international collaboration for healthcare development.
Upon completion, this Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) health facility will house approximately 75 inpatient beds, two advanced operating theatres, a minor theatre, and a fully equipped imaging suite featuring digital X-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans. Additionally, it will house modern accident and emergency as well as outpatient departments, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for the community.
This development is poised to elevate the standard of healthcare delivery and enhance the well-being of residents in Region Three. It is anticipated that the facility will play a pivotal role in improving healthcare accessibility and quality, contributing significantly to the overall health and welfare of the community.
