Health Sciences Education

Health Sciences Education is a department which falls under the purview of the Ministry of Health. In keeping with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Health, Health Sciences Education is charged with ensuring that the human resource gaps between the demand and supply of human health resources in clinical and technical training and nursing training are met. This is achieved through continuous training programmes that culminate in employment within the public service. These programmes are offered through scholarship opportunities via the Public Service Ministry, Government of Guyana, where recipients receive training at no personal cost and are required to serve the Country for a stipulated period. This department aims to conduct all Ministry of Health Pre-Service Training Programmes and to provide all sectors of the population with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to make choices that are conducive to health.
