With the government’s dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure nationwide, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) in Guyana is poised to receive a cutting-edge, $6.6 billion health facility. By early 2025, residents of Region Six can anticipate access to an upgraded healthcare hub.
Among its offerings, this new health facility will be the home of 75 inpatient beds, two advanced operating theatres, a minor theatre, and a fully equipped imaging suite featuring digital X-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans.
Additionally, it will feature contemporary accident and emergency as well as outpatient departments. Situated in Number 75 Village, construction is underway for a modern hospital facilitated by the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation, a Chinese State-owned enterprise called Sinopharm. An estimated 40,000 residents residing in this area of Region Six are expected to reap the benefits of this transformative initiative.
