The Ministry of Health invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Range of activities:
- Work closely with the Permanent Secretary, Project Management Unit and stakeholders on the execution of special projects
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable practices, policies, performance standards and specifications
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors to obtain the best pricing.
- Contribute to the monitoring of efficiency of Key Performance Indicators.
- Conduct periodic monitoring visits to all infrastructural projects sites, being undertaken by the Ministry of Health
- Responsible for ensuring that all technical scope changes are agreed with the project manager prior to implementation through the life of the project.
Required qualifications and experience:
A master’s degree in civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or any other related field as well as 3 years relevant work experience.
Plus a Project Management Certification (Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional in Project Management (PPM), or similar)
OR
A bachelor’s degree in civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or any other related field plus at least 6 years’ relevant work.
