Today, residents of Unity Village, East Coast Demerara, celebrated the official opening of a brand-new recreational facility, an initiative led by First Lady Arya Ali. The event was graced by the Minister of Health, Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, along with several dignitaries and community members.
In his remarks, Minister Anthony commended the First Lady for her commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces for families across Guyana. He noted that the park will serve as a positive outlet for both children and adults.
“This space provides a safe environment where parents, children, and families can come together to play, relax, and build stronger bonds. It is also a place where adults can enjoy exercise and fresh air while promoting healthy lifestyles. The First Lady has not only made this project possible here in Unity but has replicated similar initiatives across the country, ensuring communities everywhere can benefit,” Minister Anthony said.
The First Lady’s nationwide projects continue to transform communities by fostering healthier, more connected, and family-oriented environments.
The new facility is expected to bring lasting social benefits, giving residents a space for recreation, wellness, and togetherness.
