The Ministry of Health has received a valuable donation of three boat engines from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Guyana. The engines were officially handed over by Ms Adriana Negry, Head of the National Office, to the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony during a brief ceremony.
The donation, which aims to improve access to healthcare services in Region One, was subsequently handed over to Dr Steven Cheefoon, Regional Health Officer (RHO) for the Region. These engines will play a critical role in enhancing transportation and emergency response capabilities.
The UNHCR commends the government’s efforts to ensure universal access to basic services, especially for the most vulnerable population groups.
