The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with STRIDE592, Woodlands Hospital Limited, and the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), successfully hosted the SOCA Heart Project 2025 on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Boy Scouts Grounds.
The national campaign, which aims to promote cardiovascular health and active living, brought together participants of all ages to raise awareness about heart disease, a leading cause of death in Guyana.
The day’s activities included a 5K and 10K Run/Walk, a Kids Fun Run, a vibrant Fruit and Veggie Festival, and a Health and Wellness Expo. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout, highlighting the growing commitment of Guyanese to adopting healthier lifestyles and supporting cardiovascular research.
The Ministry of Health extends gratitude to all participants, families, community groups, and partner organizations whose efforts made the event a resounding success. Together, we are taking meaningful steps towards reducing the burden of heart disease and building a healthier nation.
