As part of their engagement during the Multisectoral and Stakeholder Meeting at the CARICOM Secretariat, the Minister of Health, Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, led the PAHO Caribbean Regional Delegation on a tour of two significant milestones in Guyana’s healthcare development. The delegation visited the construction sites of the Enmore Regional Hospital and the Paediatric and Maternal Hospital at Ogle.
The Enmore Regional Hospital is poised to revolutionise healthcare delivery on the East Coast Demerara. Once completed, the facility will provide advanced medical services, including a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit, diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and X-rays, and fully equipped laboratories.
Similarly, the Paediatric and Maternal Hospital at Ogle will enhance Guyana’s capacity to provide specialised care for mothers and children, addressing critical healthcare needs and improving maternal and child health outcomes.
These projects underscore the government’s commitment to modernising the healthcare sector and ensuring equitable access to high-quality medical services across the country.
