The Ministry of Health today officially opened the Esau and Jacob Health Centre, a state-of-the-art facility valued at approximately $37 million, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to the local community. This new health center will offer a wide range of services, including maternal and child health care, family planning, general outpatient services, chronic disease management, school health programs, pharmacy services, and home visits, ensuring comprehensive health support for all residents.
While delivering his remarks, the Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, the Health Minister, emphasised the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure that underserved areas across the country have access to healthcare services. “We recognised that this would be a crucial addition, where people can come and receive the care they need,” he stated.
The Minister further highlighted that the newly established health facility is fully equipped to serve both children and adults in the community.
“We offer a range of services here, and we encourage you to take advantage of the healthcare options available to you,” Dr Anthony assured community members.
The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Dr Theresa Sarju, Regional Health Officer (RHO), Member of Parliament Mr Faizal Jaffarally, Regional Executive Officer Mr Sadiek Ishmael, and other key government officials.
This milestone reflects the government’s continued commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality for all citizens, particularly those in underserved areas.
With the addition of this health center, the Ministry of Health hopes to enhance the overall well-being of the community, reduce health disparities, and promote a healthier future for generations to come.
