Georgetown, Guyana (March 13, 2025) – The Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony, today accepted a donation of 20 tablets from Mount Sinai Health System during a brief ceremony held at the Ministry of Health’s Boardroom, Brickdam.
The tablets will be used by the Family and Primary Care Department’s Child and Adolescent Units to support the Comprehensive Child School Screening Programme, enabling digital data capture for improved efficiency.
This donation follows Mount Sinai’s Health Systems’ successful installation of a REDCap server within the Ministry of Health. REDCap is a web application for building and managing online surveys and databases.
The agency is also facilitating comprehensive training to staff within the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Education and other supporting agencies to ensure data integrity.
By transitioning to a digital system, this initiative will enhance the team’s ability to review and analyse data in real time, supporting the development of data-driven policies, informed budget allocations, and timely interventions aimed at improving the health outcomes of children and adolescents across Guyana.
The Ministry of Health remains committed to leveraging technology for better healthcare delivery and acknowledges Mount Sinai’s continued support in strengthening Guyana’s public health sector.
Among those present were the Director of Primary Healthcare, Dr. Ertenisa Hamilton; School Health Coordinator, Dr Farrah December; Dr Rachel Vreeman Executive Director of Guyana Consultancy Mount Sinai; Josué Alcántara Country Director of Guyana Consultancy Mount Sinai and other officials.
Launched in 2023, the Comprehensive School Health Programme is a nationwide initiative aimed at improving the health and well-being of school-aged children through systematic screenings.
