On Friday January 17th, a visiting respiratory therapy team, comprising Professor Sharon Armstead and Professor Misty Carlson, engaged in a productive meeting with the Minister of Health, Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, to discuss the development of the Respiratory Therapy (RT) profession in Guyana. This meeting was also attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Narine Singh.
The discussion centred on strategies to strengthen respiratory care services in the country, including capacity building, training opportunities, and potential collaborations to establish Respiratory Therapy as a recognised profession within Guyana’s healthcare system.
