“This support will go a long way in helping families give their babies the best start in life,” Minister Anthony said.He also highlighted the broader significance of the initiative, stressing that while many countries face significant challenges in providing access to basic healthcare, Guyana is fortunate to offer comprehensive, no-cost maternal and child health services to its citizens.
“Women and children in some countries do not have access to doctors or care. We are blessed to have such services available right here in Guyana,” he added. The newborn cash grant programme is part of the government’s broader efforts to improve health outcomes and provide essential support to families from the earliest stages of life.
