Today, Minister Dr. Frank Anthony visited the Ithaca Health Centre in Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice) to distribute Universal Health, Eye Testing, Spectacles, and Cervical Cancer Screening Vouchers to residents.
The Minister encouraged everyone to take advantage of these vouchers, emphasising the importance of early screening for better health outcomes. He highlighted that early detection can prevent serious complications and aid in the management of various conditions.
Universal Healthcare Vouchers – Valued at $10,000, these vouchers are available to all Guyanese, both adults and children. They cover a range of laboratory (blood) tests at participating private health facilities.
Eye Testing Vouchers – Residents under 18 and those 50+ are eligible for a $2,000 voucher for eye testing. Should spectacles be required, an additional $15,000 voucher is available to assist with eyewear costs.
Cervical Cancer Screening Vouchers – Available for women aged 21 to 65, these vouchers help with screenings at participating optical and laboratories across the country.
