As part of the ongoing celebrations for Queens College High School’s 180th anniversary, the Ministry of Health hosted current and former students for a commemorative plaque-laying ceremony. This event highlighted the school’s historical connection to the Ministry’s Brickdam location, where the institution was based from 1918 to 1951.
Christopher Belfield, Public Relations Officer for the Queen’s College Old Students Association, emphasised the school’s lasting impact on the medical field, noting that many healthcare professionals trace their secondary education back to Queens College. He spoke on the essential role that alumni have played in safeguarding public health, as well as in advancing diagnostics, treatment, and preventive care.
Minister of Health, Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, a Queens College alumnus, also shared his reflections on the school’s impressive legacy and its profound contributions to society.
