Residents of Enmore, Paradise and surrounding communities on the East Coast Demerara, on Saturday, benefitted from the health outreach at Paradise Primary School.
Eligible residents were able to access the Government of Guyana vouchers and utilise the same with the service providers on-site to have their examinations done.
The program provided eye testing valued at $2000 and spectacles vouchers valued at $15,000 for those in need of spectacles.
For women 21-65, they were able to access a voucher valued at $8000 to get a Human Papilloma Virus test done, one of the methods used to screen for cervical cancer.
Honourable Dr Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, visited the site and interacted with residents who expressed their gratitude for the financial relief and services being brought to their communities.
Activities like this one, demonstrate the Government’s commitment to prioritising community health care.
